4 more quality Philly 100 events!
Can't make it to the west coast to quadzilla this year? Well, are you in luck ... we're hosting one on the Right Coast! But you might ask ...
... what's a quadzilla? That's Marathon Maniac-speak for "four marathons in four consecutive days".
... what makes this a unique option? The Christmas Quadzilla offers you the rare opportunity to complete ULTRA-Quadzilla, which (to the RD's knowledge) has only been done once before, as well as the HALF-Quadzilla.
... where is this? We're keeping it simple for mileage counting and parking ... on Center City Philadelphia's Schuylkill Loop. This will help those who don't want to run the 50K+ distance dial it back to a marathon or a half marathon. This 8.4 mile partially shaded asphalt/concrete (with grass on the side) multi-use path along the Schuylkill River is flat with only one road crossing but with a few parking lot entrances to cross. All races start/end in front of Lloyd Hall.
... what time is this? Suggested race times are below. But you may start early or late to fit the race(s) best into your family's holiday schedule and for safety reasons. As long as you race on the given day, that's fine! NOTE: due to this extreme flexibility DO NOT EXPECT an official start line for the 12/24 or 12/25 race! Your RD may even start early or late those days! Just show up, run, and email the RD your time and distance! 12/26 and 12/27: same thing applies, but your RD will be there to offiically start the race at 7am.
... how much? Nothing! Nada! Zip! It's FREE!
... what will the aid stations offer? Nothing because there will be none ... you get what you pay for. :) You must self support or utilize a crew you provide (repeat: no aid will be provided!).
... what do the T-shirts and medals look like? Like air! because there are none.
... is this a Boston or Western States qualifer? Heck no. These races are not officially sanctioned by any governing body and are too laid back to be qualifiers for any other race. These is a low key fat ass-style fun runs where you are only competing against yourself and your goal is to finish. No fee, no aid stations, no frills. Just fun and challenge! HOWEVER if you need volunteer time to satisfy the service requirement for a race such as Western States, these races WILL count (contact your RD for details). These races also all count towards Half Fanatic, Marathon Maniac, and 50 State Club tallies as applicable as per your mileage run.
.. how many runners? As we'll be just a bunch of runners out for a nice long run together, what does it matter?!? Official results will be posted for everyone who completes 5 miles up to 33.6 miles (4 full loops 'round the river) and submits their distance and time via email postrace to the RD.
There are four races ... run one, two, three, or four . All races begin in front of Lloyd Hall; no time limit so walkers welcome; staggered starts available to accommodate your schedule!!!
